Murray State's Avery Edwards posted a ninth place finish at the EKU Intercollegiate at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Kentucky.

Coming off a second place finish at the MSU Invitational in the season opener last week, Edwards fired rounds of 72-67-71 for a total score of even-par 210. He was third in the event with 11 total birdies and finished four shots off of the medalist winner Jordan Boulton of Longwood who carded scores of 70-69=65=204.

Other Murray State scores and places included a 24^th place showing by Gabe Wheeler on rounds of 72-70-73=215. Austin Knight had scores of 72-76-74=222 and placed 62^nd. Lance Davis and Justin Wendling shared 84^th place. Davis has scores of 77-80-75=232, with Wendling posting scores of 76-77-79=232.

Freshman Connor Coombs placed 58^th overall and was fifth in the field of 10 players in the event as individuals. Coombs was better as the tournament went on and carded scores of 76-73-72=221.

The Racers were 14^th in the team standings after scores of 292-290-293=875. Host EKU was the winner at 837, with Longwood (849), Dayton (853), Ball State (854) and William & Mary (855) making up the top-5.

Next up for the Racers is an appearance in the Derek Dolenc Invitational (Sept. 25-26) hosted by SIUE at Gateway National in Madison, Illinois.
