Final Results

The Murray State men's golf team brought home a runner-up showing and junior Austin Knight claimed the medalist title of the UTM Skyhawk Classic at Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, Tennessee.

The Racers carded scores of 292-287-285=864 and cut a 10-shot deficit to just one at the end of the day behind winner Tennessee State who has scores of 281-288-294=863.

Murray State's Austin Knight took home the medalist title on scores of 70-67-68 and had an 11-under-par total of 205. It's his first title since last April when he won the title at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate. Knight's win easily outdistanced Will Schroeder of John A, Logan who had scores of 71-71-71=213.

Other MSU scores and places included Gabe Wheeler in fourth place on rounds of 71-71-74=216 and Dalton Bagwell who raised his standing nine spots to place 18^th on scores of 80-73-71-224. Avery Edwards placed 26^th on scores of 76-76-74=226, while Connor Coombs was in 31st place after scores of 75-84-72=231. James Boone and Justin Wendling were in the event as individuals. Wendling joined Knight on the All-Tournament Team with a third place showing on scores of 76-68-71=215 and Boone finished 14^th on scores of 75-72-75=222. Quinn Eaton withdrew before the start of Monday's first round.

Paris Landing State Park played to a par-72 and to a length of 6,685 yards.

Next up for the Racers is the Rex Chaney Classic at Eagle Trace Golf Course in Morehead, Kentucky. The event is a one-day 18-hole shootout on Oct. 6.
