Final Results

Gabe Wheeler led the Murray State men's golf team in the 54-holes played over two days at the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club, on the Palms Course, in Goodyear, Arizona.

A junior, Wheeler carded scores of 70-74-73=217 to get a spot in 55^th place in the field of 106 competitors. Austin Knight and Lance Davis shared 58^th place. Knight had rounds of 73-70-75=218, while Davis had scores of 71-72-75=218. Connor Coombs, a freshman, placed 93^rd on scores of 78-75-74=227, while Avery Edwards withdrew from day two after he had a 70 in Sunday's first round.

The Racers had a 4-under 284 in round one, but couldn't keep the momentum and followed with a 291 and 297 for an 872 total to place 18th.

College of Charleston was the team winner at 816. SIUE (829), Hartford (831), Eastern Michigan (836) and Gonzaga (836) made up the top-5 finishers.

The Racers get back to action at the USF Invitational (March 12-13) in Tampa, Florida at the Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club.
