I Know What You Did This Summer: Nolan Nichols

GoRacers.com continues its series on summer internship by Racer student-athletes this week with football's Nolan Nichols, an public relations major from Benton, Kentucky.

GoRacers.com: Tell us a little bit about what you are doing this summer at your internship.
Nolan Nichols: I am currently a safety intern at Rosendin Electric. One of my main duties in this internship is to walk around a chemical plant and make sure everyone is practicing safety protocols. I also communicate with construction workers teaching them proper and safe ways to work as well.
GR: How will this internship help you get a job in your field after graduation?
NN: Rosendin Electric is a well established company and has a wonderful internship program with over 70 interns this summer. The experience I have gained so far is been very beneficial.
GR: What is something you have already learned this summer that you did not know before?
NN: Understanding what goes on in an actual workplace in regards to safety, has been great to get a feel for starting my career.
GR: What has been your favorite thing that you have done so far?
NN: I've actually never had the opportunity to fly on a plane. This summer, Rosendin gave me the opportunity to fly out to San Jose, California for their annual intern week. The whole week was an amazing opportunity and I got to see some really cool things, along with making some very good connections.
