Racers Return To Clarksville For APSU Intercollegiate

The Murray State women's golf team starts play Monday at the F&M Bank Austin Peay Intercollegiate at Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The Racers are making their first appearance in the APSU event since 2015 when the tournament was played at the Clarksville CC and MSU placed fifth on scores of 322-325=647. Among current Racers, only Jane Watts and Anna Moore have played the course. In 2015 Watts had a 36-hole score of 156 and finished 12^th, Moore was 26^th at 164.

The Racers will be paired with Austin Peay and Radford at the start of the 54-hole event Monday when the shotgun start happens at 8 a.m. MSU's lineup includes Linette Holmslykke, Sarah McDowell, Lucila Puente Rodriguez de Austria, Jane Watts and Raeshya Surendran. MSU will have two individuals in the event. Anna Moore and Taylor Church.

MSU's Holmslykke is off to a fantastic start to her senior season as she leads the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring with a 72.2 average. She placed second at the Payne Stewart Memorial on scores of 69-71-72=212 and was second last week at the JSU Chris Banister Classic.

Two 18-hole rounds are on tap Monday and a final 18-hole round is Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.

The Racers join a field that includes host Austin Peay, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Findlay, Morehead State, North Alabama, Radford, Tennessee State, UNC Asheville and Louisiana-Monroe.

The Racers have won the event three times with wins at Clarksville CC in 2003 and 2010 and a 2011 title at the Links at Novadell. MSU's Caroline Lagerborg was the medalist champion in 2010 and Lee-Ann Pace won it in 2003.

Clarksville CC will play to a par-72 and a length of 6,038 yards.
