Beck & Lancaster Racer Family Ties Lead Back To Murray State

Murray State men's golf coach Eddie Hunt announced the signing of Walker Beck and Husten Lancaster, as both follow their fathers who also played golf for the Racers.
 
"I am very pleased to welcome Walker and Husten to the Racer family," Coach Hunt said. "Both were very aware of the tradition we have at Murray State through their dads and the talent level they bring to our program will also give them the opportunity to make an impact on our team."
 
Walker Beck – Castle High School – Evansville, Indiana
Walker Beck joins the Racers from Castle High School in Evansville, Indiana, where he was a two-time finalist in the Indiana High School Athletic Association.
 
In out of high school competition outside of high school, Beck competed six times in the Yestingmeier Cup for Evansville in the event that matches prep-age players in team events. Beck was 4-2 in solo matches.
 
He won the 2016 Victoria National Club Championship and the 2017 Rolling Hills Championship. Beck posted a seventh place showing at the Evansville City Championship in 2016 on scores of 72-69-74-73.
 
Beck will be a freshman in the fall and follow his father, Evan, who played for Murray State Golf from 1991-93.
 
Husten Lancaster – Mayfield High School – Mayfield, Kentucky
Husten Lancaster will be a freshman for the Racers in the fall of 2019 and brings with him a decorated prep career with the Mayfield Cardinals.
 
He was the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Region-I runner-up as a sophomore in 2016 and as a senior in 2018. He placed fourth as a junior in 2017.
 
A multiple qualifier for the KHSAA State Tournament, Husten placed 17th in 2018 on scores of 78-73=151.
 
Husten's father, O.J. and uncle, Jason, each played for the Racers from 1992-96.
