Hawthorne Earns Third Newcomer Honor

Junior Laci Hawthorne of the Murray State women's basketball team has been named as the OVC Newcomer of the Week for the third time this season, the league office announced Tuesday.
In the Racers lone game against Cumberland (TN) last week, Hawthorne had a game-high 13 points to go along with eight rebounds. In addition, the Fort Worth native shot 50-percent from the floor at 5-for-10 and added two steals and an assist.
Hawthorne and the rest of the Racers will return to action Thursday to kick-off their 43rd season of OVC basketball at the CFSB Center against UT Martin at 5 p.m.
