Edwards 13th After First Round In Arizona

The Murray State men's golf team carded a 301 in the opening round of the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.

The Racers had a share of 13^th place in the field of 17 teams. Elon was the leader with a 282, four shots ahead of Missouri State (286) and five shots in front of host Loyola (MD) at 287.

Avery Edwards had an even par 72 to lead the Racers in the first round with a spot in 13^th place in the field of 100 players. Gabe Wheeler and Austin Knight shared 45^th place after each shot a 75, while Justin Wendling was in 77^th place after a 79 and Connor Coombs was in 86^th place after a score of 80. MSU's Dalton Bagwell is playing the event in a field of 15 individual players. Bagwell was in 77^th place with a 79.

Loyola's Evan Brown had the first round lead with a 67, two shots ahead of UAB's Nick Robillard and Kory Franks of Missouri State as each carded a 69.
