Adebayo, Turley Nab OVC Awards

Evelyn Adebayo and Macey Turley of the Murray State women's basketball team were named as the OVC Newcomer and Freshman of the Week, respectively. For Adebayo, it was her seventh consecutive newcomer award and 11th overall, while it was the seventh freshman honor for Turley.
Adebayo had double-doubles in each of her games last week as she helped Murray State go 2-0. The junior had 18 points and 12 rebounds Thursday against UTM, followed by 20 and 10 against SEMO. The double-doubles this week allowed Adebayo to set a new school record for double-doubles in a season, which now stands at 18. The England native was also particularly solid at the free throw line where she went 7-for-8 Thursday and 4-for-4 Saturday.
Turley averaged 17.0 points and 5.0 assists over a 2-0 week for Murray State. The freshman scored 21 against UT Martin, followed by 13 against SEMO. She also came up big for MSU at the free throw line going 7-for-9 against the Skyhawks and 9-for-11 versus the Redhawks.
This week, the Racers will wrap-up their regular-season with two crucial games. The week begins Thursday at Morehead State, followed by a visit from Austin Peay Saturday at the CFSB Center in a Heritage Bank Battle of the Border matchup.
