Adebayo Takes Home Final Newcomer Honor of 2018-19

For the 12th and final time this season, Evelyn Adebayo has been named as the OVC Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Adebayo wrapped up a monstrous regular-season by averaging 18.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. The junior had 16 and 8 at Morehead, followed by 21 and 13 against Peay. She was also deadly accurate on the week, shooting 45.2-precent from the floor. In addition, she missed just one of eight free throws on the week and averaged 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks.
On Thursday, Adebayo and her teammates will begin their trek towards an OVC championship with an opening round game against three-seeded UT Martin at the Ford Center in Evansville at 3 p.m.
