Racers Capture Third Straight Heritage Bank Battle of the Border

The Murray State women's golf team's third-straight OVC championship win Wednesday came with something a little extra, a third straight win in the Heritage Bank Battle of the Border. The three points that came with the win by women's golf Wednesday were enough to eclipse the 34 points need to capture the trophy.
With 67 total points available, representing the 67 miles between the two schools, the Racers now have 36.5 with 11 still up for grabs. Should the Racers sweep the last three events, the OVC men's golf championship, the OVC women's outdoor track & field championship and the week of giving, they would finish with 47.5 points, setting a new record for total points in the short history of the trophy.
The Racers have now won the trophy in each year of its existence with a 46.5-20.5 win in 2017-18 and a narrow 35-32 victory in 2018-19.
