Goetz Earns Spot on Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team

Senior Lillie Goetz will represent Murray State softball as a first-team selection on the Google Cloud Academic All-District team, announced by CoSIDA on Wednesday.
Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Goetz garners the award after leading the Racers with a .313 average, 37 RBI, and 20 extra-base hits. Additionally, she broke the Murray State single-season walks record as her 35 on the year led to an impressive .448 on-base percentage in 2019.
In the classroom, Goetz showed her dedication to education with a 3.84 cumulative GPA as she studies exercise science with plans to become a physical therapist after she completes her education at Murray State University.
As an Academic All-District first-team honoree, the Owensboro, Kentucky native will advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third team Academic All-America award winners will be announced in June.
