Meike Drewell of the Murray State rifle team has been named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District At-Large team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America Thursday. The women's at-large teams are comprised of student-athletes that compete in sports other than soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball and track & field/cross country.
Drewell, a business administration major, currently carries a perfect 4.0 GPA. She was an integral part of the Racers' fourth consecutive OVC title in 2018-19 and featured on the NCAA championship squad as well. At the championship, Drewell led Murray State in air rifle with a season-high 592. In addition, her smallbore season average of 577.8 went down as the third best for the Racers on the year.
Earlier this year, Drewell was honored with prestigious Elite 90 award by the NCAA for having the highest GPA at the final site of competition.
Drewell will now wait until June 21 to see if she is named to one of three Google Cloud Academic All-America teams.
