Overtime With Yon Boone
1. What's do you hope your players say about you in 10 years?
I hope they look back and say thank you for helping develop me not only as a football player, but as man, a future husband and a future father. I really hope that the total development of them as a person is what they call back and thank me for.
2. What are some of you favorite stadiums that you've ever played?
One of my favorites is Marv Kay Stadium from my previous school at Colorado Mines, it's just 360-degree mountain views no matter where you are on the field. The most energetic however is Wisconsin and when "Jump Around" came on to start the third quarter, that place got pretty lively.
Â
3. What is your favorite thing about coaching your position?
They have a unique skill set and are high-performance athletes. I tell them all the time that they are high-performance sports cars and have to take of that sports car. They just have a different mentality, because I have coached backers and I have coached D-line, if you are a DB you are just kind of out there on an island and if you make a mistake than everyone in the stadium knows it, but if you make a big play than everyone in the stadium know that too. Bottom line is that it is a high-performance position that I have a lot of fun coaching.
