Overtime With Chris Cunningham
1. Why did you come to work for Coach Hood at Murray State?
Coach Hood was my college coach when I played at Eastern Kentucky, so I knew the type of man that he is. I always tell people that Coach Hood is a great coach, but even better man. He was one of the main influences in my life after my mom, my high school coach, Mike Sonneborn and then Dean Hood would be the next most influential person in my life. So when I had the opportunity to come work for him, it was a no-brainer.
Â
2. Do you have any music that gets you pumped up for a game?
It's a mixture of R&B and hip-hop. I pretty much just put the playlist on shuffle to help get my mind set where I am kind of relaxed for a little bit, then other songs will get me hyped up.
Â
3. Do you have a game-day ritual or tradition?
I didn't in the past, but when my family is at the game, I always try to go and hug one of my daughters. It really just helps put everything in perspective for me to know that no matter what is going on, that they are my rock and I'll make sure that I am that rock for our player and have that energy as well.
