The 1995 season for Coach Houston Nutt and the Racers started a two-year run of undefeated back-to-back OVC titles and a 16-0 league record.

In the rewind from the 1995 season, fans will see highlights from MSU's 35-14 win at Western Kentucky in the opener and a 35-3 win at Southern Illinois. As the Racers won their first 11 games of the season, their first OVC championship since 1986 was clinched at home (Nov. 4) in a 17-7 win over Eastern Kentucky in front of 15,711 fans, the fourth-largest crowd in the history of Roy Stewart Stadium. MSU hosted Northern Iowa (Nov. 25) in the first round of the 1-AA playoffs where the season ended in a 35-34 defeat.

The 1995 team produced and amazing total of 15 All-OVC selections including Derrick Cullors (RB), William Hampton (DB) and Anthony Hutch (DL) who were all named All-America. Cullors and Hampton were named the OVC's offensive and defensive MVPs and head coach Houston Nutt was named the OVC Coach of the Year and the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year.
