Happy New Year Athletics Department! I hope everyone is looking forward to 2021. We have so much on tap for the upcoming semester.
Men's Basketball was the first sport to get underway in 2021, losing a tough one against Morehead State on Jan. 2, 56-61. Both men's and women's basketball head to Eastern Illinois this Thursday, Jan. 7th for a doubleheader at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., irrespectively. The Racers continue conference play on the road heading to SIUE for a doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 9th. Men's and Women's Basketball are scheduled to play on Thursday's and Saturday's for remainder of conference play.
Rifle will start back up on January 16th vs Ohio State and face Kentucky the following weekend. The Smallbore 2021 OVC Rifle Championship will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6th and the Air Rifle 2021 OVC Rifle Championship on Sunday, Feb 7th in Morehead, Ky.
Men's and Women's cross country will be hosting their 2021 Murray State Open on Friday, Feb. 5th at Miller Memorial Golf Course.
Volleyball is scheduled to play Sunday's and Monday's beginning on Sunday, Feb. 7th against Tennessee State at Racer Arena.
Softball heads to Hattiesburg, Miss. on February 12-14 to open the 2021 season at the Southern Mississippi Tournament.
Men's golf will open the season in Stuart, Fla. against UNC Greensboro on Feb. 14th.
Baseball is scheduled to begin one week later, traveling to Nashville, Tenn. to face Lipscomb for a three-game series Feb. 19-21.
Football starts up on Sunday, Feb. 21st. The Racers open the 2020-21 season on the road at Southeast Missouri.
Women's golf begins their 2021 season by traveling to Kiawah Island, S.C., taking on the College of Charleston Feb. 28th – Mar. 2nd.
Soccer is scheduled to get underway in March with conference games slated for Tuesday's and Friday's.
Tennis will begin sometime in mid-January and women's track & field in March.
The spring semester will be a busy one so be sure to check the athletics website for the most up-to-date news.
