Buchanan & Cunningham Pace Racers At Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate

The Racers’ men’s golf team is playing this week in Jonesboro, Ark., at RidgePointe Country Club
The Murray State men's golf team began play Monday at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, hosted by Arkansas State at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro.

The Racers carded scores of 302-314=616 and had a spot in 12th place in the field of 18 teams through 36 holes. MSU was three shots ahead of Central Arkansas and Long Island, each at 619 and trailed Stephen F. Austin at 615.

MSU's Kamaren Cunningham and John Buchanan shared 36th place to lead the Racers. The freshman, Cunningham, had a score line of 76-75=151, while Buchanan, a junior is seeing his first action as a Racer and carded rounds of 73-78=151. Other results and standings for the Murray State team included Connor Coombs in 41st place on scores of 76-76-152 and Trey Lewis in 91st place on scores of 77-89=166. Walker Beck had scores of 86-86=171 and was in 95th position.

Arkansas State was the leader at 581, with Loyola-Chicago (592), Oklahoma Christian (594), Oral Roberts (594) and Creighton (594) rounding out the top-5.
