The Racers saw Connor Coombs and Kamaren Cunningham pace the team each with a 15th place finish

Murray State's Connor Coombs and Kamaren Cunningham led the way for the Racer men's golf team each with a 15^th place finish at the UTM Skyhawk Grover Page Classic at Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tennessee.

Coombs moved up 10 spots in the final round and finished with scores of 74-72-70=216, while Cunningham held steady at 15^th place on scores of 68-75-73=216.

Other MSU scores and places included Carson Holmes in 48^th place on scores of 73-74-77=224, while Trey Lewis placed 76^th on rounds of 78-78-76=232. Tyler Powell had a score line of 81-77-78=236 and placed 83^rd.

The Racers carded scores of 293-298-296=887 for an 11^th place finish, three shots from Bellarmine and SIUE (884). Host UTM was the winner at 852, with Tennessee Tech (857), New Orleans (865), Belmont (868) and Southern Illinois (870) making up the top-5.

Matthis Besard of Southern Illinois was the medalist winner on scores of 68-66-67=201.

The next challenge for the Racers is an appearance at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate (Oct. 11-12) hosted by Arkansas State at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro.
