Metzger Earns First OVC Honors

Metzger named OVC Newcomer of the Week for the week of Mar. 17.

For the first time in her career, the Collinsville, Illinois native, Darci Metzger has been named the OVC Newcomer Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 17.

Metzger picked up 12 kills in each match, finishing Sunday's win with a hitting efficiency of .348 (12-4-23). She hit double-digit kills for the fifth and sixth times this season. Metzger picked up 24 total kills on a .294 hitting percentage,
added three blocks, five digs, and her first two career service aces for the weekend against the Panthers.

She is the fifth OVC Player of the Week recipient in 2020-21 for the Racers.

Metzger and the rest of the Racers will return to action this weekend as they host to Tennessee Tech on Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday at 4 p.m.
