MSU’s first-year head coach is one of 16 to be considered for national Coach of the Year
Murray State head football coach Dean Hood has been named as one of 16 finalists for the 2021 FCS Stats Perform Eddie Robinson Award, the FCS news organization announced Monday. The Robinson award is given annually to the national coach of the year in the Division I football championship subdivision.
Hood oversaw one of the best turnarounds in the nation this spring when he led Murray State to its first winning season since 2011 and best OVC record since 2005. Murray State also returned to the top 25 polls under Hood this season, earning its first ranking since 2011 and staying in the polls for six consecutive weeks.
