Garcia played in her first event as a Racer and had an 11th place showing at the Payne Stewart Memorial

Murray State junior, Alma Garcia was named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office.

Out of Oaxaca, Mexico, Garcia played her first event for Murray State at the Missouri State Payne Stewart Memorial and produced an 11th place finish. In a field of 84 players, Garcia got around the Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield with scores of 72-74-74=220. Her performance helped the Racers to a third place team finish out of 16 squads.

Garcia shared the award with Olivia Hensley of Morehead State.

The Murray State women's golf team is set to play Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 27-28) at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate at The Legacy Golf Club in Springfield, Tennessee.
