Incoming Racer, Gabriela Felix Baeza, Wins Mexican Nationals

Gabriela Félix Baeza led her state of Jalisco to the gold medal in volleyball at the Mexican Nationals, June 25th-30th, 2021.
Gabriela Félix Baeza, incoming member to the Murray State volleyball team, won the Mexican Nationals last June from June 25th-30th.

Gabriela, a libero, represented the state of Jalisco and had to compete against nine other states for her team to win the nationals.
After playing against Guerrero, Nayarit, Veracruz, and Baja California; Jalisco passed directly to the semifinals undefeated. Gaby's team crushed Sonora in a 2-set match, to advance to the finals.
Her team won the finals against the representative team of the state of Baja California in a 3-set match. Gabriela's team was the only representative team from Jalisco that won a gold medal in volleyball.
Félix Baeza has represented her state of Jalisco as the starting libero since 2015, winning gold at Mexican Nationals in 2017 and 2019 and silver in 2015 and 2018. She was the starting libero for the Mexican U18 National Team in 2019, competing at the 2019 Women's U18 Volleyball World Championships in Egypt.

Gabriela graduated from the American School Foundation of Guadalajara in 2021 and will join the Racers in the spring of 2022, intending to major in business administration management.
