KJ Williams Earns OVC Player of The Week Honor

The Murray State forward has won three weekly awards this season and the Racers a total of seven
For the seventh time in the 2021-22 season, the Murray State Racers have a Player of the Week honor in the Ohio Valley Conference AS KJ Williams won the award for the third time when the league announced its weekly winners for the period of Jan. 24-30.
Williams, out of Cleveland, Mississippi, was in the zone last week when the Racers won three games and remained undefeated in OVC play at 10-0. He averaged 20.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.0 assists/game while hitting 57.4 percent (27-of-47) from the field.
Williams had 21 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and a steal in a home game against Tennessee Tech last Monday. Three days later in a return game at Tennessee Tech, he scored 20 points (on 9-of-13 shooting), pulled down 13 rebounds and had two steals. He capped the week by scoring 21 points and grabbing nine rebounds in a 74-66 victory over Morehead State in a battle of undefeated league teams for first place in the OVC. Williams hit 8-of-13 shots and had two steals against the Eagles.
Williams ranks second in the OVC in rebounding (8.9/game), third in scoring (17.1 points/game) and seventh in field goal percentage (52.9%).
The Racers travel Thursday to Austin Peay in another matchup of the Popeye's Battle of the Border.

Harlem Globetrotters Coming To CFSB Center – Feb. 2
The worldwide sensation Harlem Globetrotters have announced they will return to Murray State University for an eighth time on February 2, 2022 beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. Guests may also visit the CFSB Center ticket office, located at 1401 State Route 121 North, Murray, Ky 42071 (Lower A Entrance). Racers Selected For Two Home Games On ESPNU
The Murray State men's basketball is hosting a pair of televised home games on ESPNU as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference for the 2021-22 season. The Racers will appear on ESPNU (Feb. 17) when they host the Austin Peay Governors at the CFSB Center in a 6 p.m. tip. The second game happens at home (Feb. 24) against the Belmont Bruins in a tip off of 8 p.m. Both of the TV games for the Racers come on Thursday nights. The OVC schedule has a total of nine total men's basketball televised games (six regular season contests and three OVC Tournament games) to be aired by one of the ESPN networks during the 2021-22 season. This includes three nights of coverage at the OVC Tournament (March 4-5) at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
