Racers Open 2022 At Tchefuncta Invitational

The Racers tee it up this week at Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington, La.
The Murray State women's golf team began play in the 2022 spring season with an appearance at the Tchefuncta Invitational hosted by South Alabama in Covington, Louisiana.

The Racers posted scores of 327-321=648 for a spot in ninth place.

Payton Carter and Eliza Mae Kho shared 33rd place for the Racers with Carter carding scores of 77-80=157 and Kho had scores of 78-79=157. Emmie Eriksson was in 48th place on scores of 86-80=166 and had the only eagle in the field during the second round. Alma Garcia had a spot in 49th place on rounds of 86-82=168 and McKenna Stahl had scores of 88-82=170 and was in 50th place. Lauren Gilchrist is playing the event as an individual and was in 51st place on scores of 87-84=171.

South Alabama (590) was the first-round leader with Incarnate Word (599), Southern Miss (602), Little Rock (604) and ULM (610) making up the top-5.

Merche Corbacho of Southern Miss was the medalist leader after scores 68-77=145.

The final round is Tuesday morning at Tchefuncta Country Club where the course is playing to a Par-71 and a length of 6,044 yards.
