Murray State and WKU Draw Scoreless for 90 Mins, WKU Takes Penalty Shootout

Murray State women's soccer played to a scoreless draw for 90 minutes with Western Kentucky on Wednesday evening at the WKU Soccer Complex in Bowling Green, Ky. As part of a session of extra training following the contest, WKU took the penalty kicks 4-2.

The Racers would put up nine shots in the contest, with five being on goal. Starters Hailey Cole, Lauren Payne, and Chloe Barnthouse would each put a shot on target with sophomore Reyna Mijangos and Freshman Megan Wilson each drawing a save from the WKU goalkeeper.

Goalkeepers Jamie Skarupsky and Jenna Villacres would impress in the contest picking up five and four saves, respectively with each player taking 45 minutes in the net.

MSU will be back in preseason action on Saturday for a home exhibition with Southern Indiana at Cutchin Field. Kickoff for the contest is set for 3 p.m.
