Racers Not Enough for Georgia State in Sunday Clash

Murray State fell to Georgia State 2-0 in the home opener of the 2022 season
Murray State women's soccer fell to Georgia State 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky. The game was the home opener for MSU this season.

The Racers were able to put up three shots on the day with freshman defender Megan Wilson putting the lone shot on target on the day for Murray State. Wilson's shot was blasted from near the halfway line but was collected by the GSU goalkeeper to avert the threat.

The Panthers put in a goal in each half to pull away from MSU and put the game out of reach.

Saraya Young and Sydney Etter each put a shot up on the day to round out the Racers attacking chances on the day.

Jenna Villacres collected two saves on the day against seven GSU shots.

Murray State will take the field again on Thursday when they travel to Birmingham, Alabama to take on Samford.
