Racers Announce 2022-23 Open Match Schedule

The Murray State Rifle Team will be hosting a schedule of open rifle matches for the 2022-23 academic year. This schedule is subject to change, please confirm with head coach Alan Lollar the week prior to match.

WHEN: Saturday, November 26, 2022; Saturday, March 18, 2023

WHERE: Pat Spurgin Rifle Range, Roy Stewart Stadium, Murray State University, Murray, KY

FACILITIES: Smallbore and Air Rifle Range: Sixteen Megalink electronic firing points with remote adjustable target frames and current NCAA Target specifications. In Stewart Stadium the weight room is below the rifle range. Every effort is made to hold matches when teams are not working out, but to host a full schedule of open matches this may not be possible. If teams are lifting, there will be vibrations and you will hear the music. We train this way every day.

RELAYS: Prep/Sighter Period will start at 09:00, setup on the range at 08:30. (A second relay will only be used if first relay is full.)

COURSE OF FIRE: One NCAA half course smallbore (3 x 20) and one NCAA Air Rifle Match (60 Shots) will be fired and counted for individual score.

RULES: The current USA Shooting Rifle Rules will govern. This is not a registered match.

COMPETITION: This is an open event.

COACHING: Coaching on the firing line is not permitted.

NCAA Rule Change: NCAA Rifle coaches are not allowed have recruiting conversations, with Prospective Student Athletes before August 1 prior to their junior year.

ENTRIES: Space is first come first served. $50.00 per shooter. Match fees are paid on arrival. Do not send early. Make checks payable to Murray State Rifle.
