2024 Schedule Launches 100 Years of MSU Football

2024 marks the 100th season for Murray State Football - a 12-game schedule is teed up including six home games at Roy Stewart Stadium
Centennial celebrations are special and in 2024 the Murray State Racers are set to enjoy their 100th season of collegiate football. What better way to begin the party than the release of the 2024 schedule.

In Murray State's first 12-game season since 2019, the Racers play six games and the 52nd season in Roy Stewart Stadium, when they take on Butler (Sept. 7).

The 100th season opener is on the road when the Racers face Missouri (Aug. 31). Murray State Family Weekend comes (Sept. 14) when MSU hosts Mississippi Valley State. In 2024, the Racers have a late-season game (Nov. 16) at Kentucky.

The Racers' second season in the Missouri Valley Football Conference begins with a road game (Sept. 28) at North Dakota, before coming home (Oct. 5) to take on South Dakota. After a game at Indiana State (Oct. 12), Murray State's homecoming game (Oct. 19) is against Illinois State. October ends with MSU hosting North Dakota State (Oct. 26), before playing at South Dakota State for the first time (Nov. 2). MSU wraps up the MVFC season at home (Nov. 9) against Missouri State and at Southern Illinois (Nov. 23).

2024 Schedule & Program Notes
- All 12 of Murray State's games in 2024 are on a Saturday.
- The last time MSU played a 12-game regular season was in 2019.
- MSU also played 12 games in 2008, 2013 and 2014.
- In MVFC play, the Racers do not meet Youngstown State or Northern Iowa in 2024.
- Against Mizzou, the Racers are meeting the Tigers for the third time and first since 2013.
- The Racers have two opponents in 2024 that they meet for the first time: Butler and SDSU.
- MSU meets MVSU for the third time and first since 2021.
- The game at North Dakota marks MSU's first visit to the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.
- South Dakota and North Dakota State visit MSU's Roy Stewart Stadium for the first time.
- The Racers' trip to Terre Haute is their first game at Indiana State since 2006.
- MSU's Homecoming game marks Illinois State's first visit to Murray since 2008.

- The Racers regular season final in Carbondale marks their 24th meeting with the Salukis, their most-played series of any current MVFC opponent.
- In 2023, the Racers saw a total of 48,225 fans come through the turnstiles for an average of 9,645 per game, the 12th largest average at Roy Stewart Stadium..
- MSU's average crowd was their best since the 1998 season that averaged 9,170.
- The Racers' two largest crowds of 2023 was for the Indiana State game, their first in the MVFC with 13,213 fans there on MSU Family Weekend and 15,885 for homecoming against SIU.
- The best average for Roy Stewart Stadium was 14,183 in 1974.
