Young Named First Team All-MVC

Junior nets third-straight first team All-Conference accolade
For the third time in her career, Katelyn Young of the Murray State women's basketball team is a first team all-conference selection. The junior was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference first team at the league's annual banquet Wednesday at the Rhythm City Resort in Davenport, Iowa.
Young is currently ninth in the nation and leads the Missouri Valley in scoring with 21.3 points per game. She is also currently fourth in the conference in rebounds per game at 7.8. Earlier this season, the junior scored a career-high 43 points against Drake in addition to scoring 20-plus points 15 times, 10-plus points 28 times and notching 11 double-doubles.
On Thursday, Young and the Racers will take on Evansville in the opening round of the 2023 Hoops In The Heartland MVC Women's Championship at 12 p.m. at the Vibrant Arena at the MARK in Moline, Illinois
