Four Racers Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society

The Hampshire Honor Society honors football players who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers.
The NFF announced on Wednesday morning that four Murray State football players are represented as part of the 2023 NFF Hampshire Honor Society as Nate Chambers,Jacob Frye,Jarad McCray, and Eric Samuta were all honored. The Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers.
Chambers, a graduate defensive lineman earned a 3.42 GPA while pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at MSU. In his lone season as a Racer, Chambers started in all 11 games while picking up 31 tackles including one tackle for loss. Frye and McCray each earned 4.0 GPAs while earning their Masters in Human Development and Leadership. Frye started all 11 games on the offensive line for MSU while McCray picked up nine starts and 20 tackles to go with an interception. Samuta earned a 3.75 GPA in the MBA program at Murray State while being a staple in the linebacking core, starting 10 games while leading the team with 74 tackles all while earning All-OVC second team honors.
The Racers will be in action on April 22nd for their spring game at Roy Stewart Stadium.Â
