Frye and Shields Earn Preseason All-MVFC Honorable Mention

Two Racers have picked up preseason All-Conference honors in the teams inaugural year in the MVFC
Two Racers were selected to the preseason All-Missouri Valley Football Conference teams, as voted on by league coaches, sports information directors, and media members.Â
Offensive lineman Jacob Frye and wide receiver Taylor Shields each picked up preseason All-MVFC honorable mention honors in the Racers first year with the conference.Â
Shields returns to the Racers with 465 receiving yards last season to lead the team along with 22 catches and a team-high 21.1 yards per catch as he earned All-Conference second team last season. Frye returns to anchor the MSU front line as he has started 29 consecutive games for the Racers, spanning back to 2019.
The Racers will begin their season on September 2, when they host Presbyterian for MSU's 1000th game in program history. Murray State will begin their MVFC journey on Sept. 30 hosting Indiana State at Roy Stewart Stadium.Â
