Murray State men’s golf plays just across the Mississippi River from the Gateway Arch
The Murray State Racers tee it up at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois.
The 54-hole event calls for 36 holes of play Monday with the final round Tuesday. A shotgun start gets the action going each day at 8:15 a.m.

The 2023 event marks the Racers' ninth appearance in the event. Their best finish was a fourth-place showing in 2014 when Jordan Smith also placed fourth in the medalist competition on scores of 75-69-71=215. In 2021, the Racers placed eighth as a team when Connor Coombs finished fifth on scores of 71-69-212. The lowest MSU score in this event was posted by Gabe Wheeler in 2018 with a 3-under-par 68. MSU's best 54-hole mark came from Jared Gosser in 2015 with a 214.

The Racers are in the field at the SIUE event along with fellow Missouri Valley Conference members Bradley and Missouri State.

The SIUE tournament is named in honor of Derek Dolenc, who was student-athlete in the golf program at SIUE in 1982 and passed away in 1991.
