Murray State volleyball falls to Eastern Kentucky and Chattanooga.
In A Nutshell
Murray State volleyball falls to Eastern Kentucky and Chattanooga on day one of the Geri Polvino Invitational, Friday. They lost 0-3 to the Colonels before falling 2-3 to Chattanooga. Â
The Racers came out strong by building a six-point lead over Eastern Kentucky in the first set before falling short in the final stretch. They got edged out after a close 23-25 third set.
After a quick turnaround, the Racers went on a back-and-forth nail-biter against Chattanooga. MSU took the first set 27-25, but the Mocs responded by taking the second set 25-19. The Racers returned and took the third set 25-20 before dropping the fourth set 23-25. Chattanooga took the fifth set 15-7.
Dahlia Miller posted a career-high and new Racers five-set single match record with 50 digs. Jodi Price set the previous record in 1989 with 48 digs against Morehead.
