Racers Post Second-Highest GPA In Department History in Fall of 2023

Murray State student-athletes have now achieved 3.0 or higher department GPA for 39-straight semesters
For the 39th consecutive semester, Racer student-athletes achieved a department wide GPA above 3.0

The department earned an overall GPA of 3.26 for the second-best GPA in Murray State athletics' history, only surpassed by the 3.27 from the Spring 2023 semester.Â
"We take a tremendous amount of pride in our academic success and are thrilled that we extended our departmental 3.0 GPA streak to 39-straight semesters," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "We are so proud of all of our student-athletes for this amazing accomplishment and are grateful for the coaches and academic staff who helped us achieve this feat once again."

Women's tennis led the way with a team GPA of 3.87 followed by women's soccer with a team GPA of 3.66. The highest men's team GPA was baseball which picked up a team GPA of 3.48.

85 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA to earn the honor of being named to the President's List while 99 student-athletes had between a 3.5 and 3.99 GPA, which earned them the honor of being named to the Dean's List.Â

In total, 70 percent of all student-athletes at Murray State had a semester GPA above 3.0 and 14 teams had a semester team GPA that exceeds their historical team average.Â
