Cunningham Nets MVC Golfer of the Week Honor

Kamaren Cunningham placed third at The Buddy and was part of the Racers’ victory in their home event
On Tuesday, Murray State men's golf student-athlete Kamaren Cunningham holed out from the 14th fairway for an eagle-two and made another eagle at the par-5 17th on his way to a third-place finish at The Buddy Championship, the Racers' annual fall event.

Those efforts led to Cunningham being named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as announced by the league's home office in St. Louis.

The senior from Dover, Tennessee carded rounds of 71-69-66 for a 206 total (-7 under par) on the Racers' home track, Miller Memorial Golf Course.

As the Racers play their third school year in The Valley in 2024-25, Cunningham's award marks the second weekly honor for the MSU men's program after Jay Nimmo won the award in spring 2023 after he won the Indiana Hoosiers Tournament (04-12-23). Overall, Cunningham is the fourth Murray State golfer from the men's and women's program to win the honor. The MSU women have won it twice: Payton Carter (04-05-23), Eliza Mae Kho (02-24-23).
