Angel Mounds Invitational Results

The event was the final tune up before the MVC championship

The Murray State men's cross country team came home with a ninth place showing at the Angel Mounds Invitational in Evansville, Indiana.

The 8K course was contested at Angel Mounds State Park.

Dylan Ellis and Gabe Russell led the Racers with finishes of 51^st and 56^th place in the field of 235 competitors.

"We've been looking for a closer spread from our number one to our number five runners and today we accomplished that," said Murray State Coach Jordan Johnston. "We posted four PR's today and that led us to a very respectable ninth-place finish in a tough field. Dylan Ellis really competed and only came up one second shy of his goal of being on our top ten all-time list."

All that remains for the Racers is the Missouri Valley Conference Championship (Nov. 1) in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The event, hosted by UNI will be contested at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course.
