The award is given to student-athletes that excel in the areas of academia, citizenship & community service
The Murray State men's cross country senior Nathan Quinn was named as the Racers representative to the Missouri Valley Conference – State Farm Good neighbor award as announced by the league office in St. Louis.
The award is given three times per school year (fall, winter & spring) as each MVC member institution chooses one student-athlete for each season to be recognized.
In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition.
In addition to being an outstanding teammate on the MSU Cross Country team, Quinn has earned the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award and a spot to the MVC Honor Roll in 2023 & 2024.
Out of Crestwood, Kentucky, Quinn has served on the MSU Student Athlete Advisory Council for three years. He is also a Baptist Campus Ministry member, volunteered for the clean up effort at the Murray State Arboretum. He has also served at Murray- Calloway County Need Line and was a Racers Read Volunteer at Murray Elementary School.
"I am proud of Nathan for being selected for the MVC Good Neighbor Award," said Rachael Cuttitta Murray State Assistant AD - Student-Athlete Development/SWA. "Nathan has been an extraordinary example of what it means to be a Racer, both in the classroom and in our community."
