Racers Fall Short in Extra-Innings at Evansville

Murray State softball drops game one at Evansville 4-3.

Murray State softball drops game one 3-4 to Evansville after an eight-inning battle, Friday.

The Racers are now 19-25 through the season and are 7-12 in Missouri Valley Conference play.

How it Went
The Racers struggle on defense to start the game as the hosts were able to get a two-run head start in the first inning through two errors.

After a scoreless second inning, the Racers scored a run in third inning through Bailey Broemmer's second home run of the season.
Â
The Racers ties the game at the top of the fourth inning through Calista Collins' RBI single through middle to score Adison Hicks's 20th run of the season.
Â
Taylor Jackson scores an RBI single through middle to take the lead at the top of the seventh but the Aces were able to force extra innings with an RBI double at the bottom of the seventh.

The hosts scores their winning run through a sacrifice fly to left field to clinch the game.
