Racers Dominate Game Two in Evansville

Murray State softball wins game two 8-2 at Evansville to force a rubber match game in their series at Evansville, Saturday.

The Racers tie their second season-high with 10 hits through seven innings. They are now 20-25 overall and 8-12 in Missouri Valley Conference play.

How it Went
The Racers opened the scoring early as Parker Holcombe scored a run on an obstruction call in the top of the first inning but the hosts responded with two runs in the bottom of the first.

Bailey Broemmer adds two more runs with an RBI double before stealing home base in the second inning. Holcombe scored two runs with a two RBI single on loaded bases in the fourth inning.

Murray State scored one more run in the top of the fifth inning through Calista Collins's sacrifice fly. The Racers clinched the game with two more runs in the top of the seventh inning through Broemmer's and Collins's RBIs.

Raylee Roby earned her third win of the season after pitching 4.2 innings.
