The Racers are slated close out the home portion of the 2024 season when they face Alabama A&M Tuesday, May 14 at 4 p.m. CT at Reagan Field in Murray, Kentucky.

The Racers are 8-1 all-time and enter Tuesday's clash riding a four-game winning streak against the Bulldogs. In their last matchup, the Racers saw a 10-0 seven-inning run-rule victory in 2023. Murray State is 7-0 at Reagan Field since the two programs' first matchup in 2013. The Racers swept the Bulldogs by scores of 11-1, 16-4 and 5-1.

Murray State's lone loss to the Bulldogs came in 2018, falling by a score of 4-1 at Alabama A&M's Bulldog Baseball Field in Huntsville, Alabama.

Scouting Report
The Bulldogs enter the midweek matchup with a 13-36 record under head coach Elliot Jones. Jones, who is in his fourth year at the helm of Alabama A&M's baseball program, has a career record of 50-125 since his arrival in 2021.

Alabama A&M's offense is led by Tristan Curless, who is the team leader in batting average, OPS, base hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, total bases, slugging percentage, walks drawn and on-base percentage. Brycen Hammonds and Chevalier Dorris have been the Bulldogs' primary base stealers in 2024, with Hammonds stealing 18 bags on 20 attempts and Dorris with 12 on 13 attempts.

Hammonds is also the team's leader in runs scored with 37.

The Bulldogs' pitching staff is led by Anthony Mateo, who has been one of the consistent starters with 12 starts. He has recorded 28 strikeouts through 61 1/3 innings while allowing 58 earned runs on 12 walks and 99 hits. Ryan Jones leads the team with 31 strikeouts through 40 1/3 innings, yet has allowed 54 earned runs on 69 hits and 25 walks.

Six pitchers for Alabama A&M have recorded at least 20 strikeouts on the year.

Weekly Notes
Murray State saw its first win over an SEC team since 2021 and their first against Ole Miss in Oxford since the 2006 season. Malik Pogue shined in Wednesday's 15-inning thriller, tossing five relief innings while allowing just one run on three hits, one walk and punching out five Rebel batters.

The weekend sweep over Valparaiso extended the Racers winning streak to five games in a row and have won 11 of their last 13 matchups. The Racers scored double-digit runs in three of their four games this week to give them 21 games this year scoring at least 10 runs. Murray State has comeback wins in 22 of their 34 wins this year when trailing at any point in the game.

With MSU's 34th win on Sunday, it is one win shy of tying the most single-season wins under head coach Dan Skirka.
