Carter Named To MVC All-Scholar Team

In the history of the Murray State women's golf program, few have matched what Payton Carter has achieved in her career. On the course and in the classroom, Carter was excellent to her final event with the Racers at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on April 16.

Carter's final accolade is being named to the MVC All-Scholar First Team for women's golf, as announced by the league from their home office in St. Louis after a vote from the Valley's head coaches and sports communications staff.

The award marks Carter's second-straight season of being on the list in the MVC and multiple academic honors that also included time in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Having earned her undergraduate degree from Murray State University in Elementary Education, Carter is completing her Master's in School Counseling this spring.

Carter is in a rare class of student-athletes to win Player of the Year honors in two conferences. She was the top player in the OVC in 2022 and accomplished the same in the MVC in 2023.
