Murray State Athletics Celebrates Successful First Year of Classroom of the Month Initiative

Racers visit 21 classrooms since program launched in August 2023
Murray State Athletics is proud to have completed a successful first year of the Racers' Classroom of the Month initiative, presented by Southern Family Dental, which was developed to honor classrooms in Kentucky, Southern Illinois and Northwest Tennessee that consistently showcase their Racer pride.
Since rolling out the program in August 2023, the department was able to visit 21 classrooms and more than 1,000 students throughout the region.
"We are continuing to make community engagement one of our top priorities as a department in conjunction with our Dennis Jackson Leadership Program and this initiative is a perfect example of our dedication to our community," Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. "It is vital for us to showcase our great University to the young people of our community and their families, and we cannot wait to see this unique program grow even more beginning again in 2024."
The Racers were able to visit schools in seven different counties throughout the University's service region with guests including Murray State Athletics administrators, staff, coaches and student-athletes. Winning classrooms also received a visit from Dunker and received prizes.
Submissions for deserving classrooms in 2024 will be accepted starting on July 1, 2024.
To nominate a classroom, teachers are encouraged to fill out the Classroom of the Month form at goracers.com/classroom. Winners will be notified by email by a member of the MSU Fan Experience staff.
