The Murray State Racers fell to the Illinois State Redbirds 3-0 on Friday night in Normal, Illinois.

The Redbirds got off to a hot start in the first set, winning 25-16 and hitting .344. They continued their success in the following set, jumping out to a 16-8 lead before winning 25-16 again to take a 2-0 lead. The Redbirds clinched the match with another big set in the third, winning 25-17 and putting up 17 kills.

The Racers were led by Lily Burnett with eight kills, while Ella Vogel added six, and Alexa Watts had five. Paige Brock and Katie Titus put up eight assists each, as Brock also led the team with nine digs. Halle Forester and Samantha Nelson added eight digs each.

Ruth Ziegler led the Redbirds with 13 kills, while Ella Craggs put up 21 assists, and Arianna Rossi had 19 digs.

The Racers return on Nov. 1 in Peoria, Illinois to face the Bradley Braves at 5 p.m. CT.
