Racers Sit fourth at Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate

The Murray State men's golf team carded rounds of 300 and 285 Monday in a 36-hole first day at RidgePointe Country Club at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

MSU was 15 strokes better in the afternoon round, but were in fourth place at 585 at the end of the first day. The Racers were one shot from third place East Texas A&M (584), while UT Martin (568) and host Arkansas State (599) held down the top two spots.

Lennon Albans led the Racers with a spot in ninth place in the field of 72 competitors on scores of 71-72=143, while Trey Wall shot the best round of the day for the Racers with a second round 68 and his total of 144 earned a spot in 11^th place. Both Albans and Wall are chasing the leader, Luke Caldwell of UTM at 137.

The final round Tuesday morning begins at 7:45 a.m. in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
