Ballard, McFarland, and Soulé will join the team in 2025.
Murray State Rifle announced its 2025 signing class on Wednesday in Murray, Ky.
The Racers add three new shooters from three different states including Mississippi, Texas, and Montana.
Hailing from Corinth, Mississippi Abby Ballard comes to Murray as a two-time Junior Olympic qualifier. The daughter of former Ole Miss shooter Misty Ballard is also a two-time state champion in the state of Mississippi.
"I have watched Abby shoot for some time," said head coach Allen Lollar. "I like the way she goes about competing. She has a lot of potential. Looking forward to getting the chance to see how good she can be."
Lea Soulé joins the Navy & Gold from Osceola, Texas, and has enjoyed a successful career in the Texas shooting scene. A four-time Texas 4-H National Shooting Sports Team member, Soulé qualified for the Texas 4-H Shooting Sports Rifle Championship three times. She is also a two-time Junior Olympic qualifier and qualified for the 2024 CMP National Championship.Â
"Lea comes from a solid club that has a history of sending good shooters to college," said head coach Allen Lollar. "She is the kind of hard worker we look for. We are excited to welcome her to the Racer Family."
Coming to Murray State all the way from Billings, Montana, Ainsley McFarland brings plenty of accolades of her own. A four-time Junior Olympic qualifier and two-time CMP Regional finalist, McFarland also features a 2023 NRA Air Rifle Position National Championship and a 2024 CMP State Championship. As a 4-H shooter, Ballard is a ten-time state record holder.Â
We are excited to welcome Ainsley to the Racer Family," said head coach Alan Lollar. "She comes from a good shooting background. Murray State has had a little success over the years with Montana shooters. I am looking forward to her future at Murray State. I think her potential is just beginning to show."
