Cincinnati, Ohio – Murray State dropped its second road match of the season, falling 8-0 to Xavier on Thursday.
The loss drops the Racers to 0-4-0 all time against the Musketeers. Murray State continues to search for their first road win of the 2025 season and their first goal in the opening half.
The Musketeers (2-2-0) seized control early, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes and never relinquished the lead. The Racers (2-3-0) struggled to find offensive rhythm and did not record a shot until the second half.
Murray State's offensive struggles continued, as they managed only 32% possession and were unable to sustain control throughout the match.
The defeat marked the largest loss and most goals allowed in Murray State soccer history.
As MSU heads back home, they look to rebound with a home match against the Marshall Thundering Herd. The Racers have performed well at home in nonconference play, holding a 2-1-0 record at Cutchin Field.
