Racers Set Program Record as Martin Records PR

The Murray State Racers posted scores of 2337 in air rifle, 2384 in smallbore, and a 4721 aggregate in a match against the Memphis Tigers at the R.F. Fogelman Family Rifle Range in Memphis, Tenn.

The Racers air rifle score of 2384 sets a new program record, surpassing the previous school record of 2380 by four points. Junior Caroline Martin set PRs with scores of 598 in air rifle and an aggregate of 1180. She also fired a 582 in smallbore.

Individually, three of the top five shooters were Racers, with Caroltta Salafia taking the top spot with a 586 smallbore and a first-place 598 in air rifle for an 1184 aggregate score.  Lea Soulé placed third individually and first in smallbore with a 593 to go along with a 589 in air rifle for an aggregate of 1182. Martin's scores placed her seventh in smallbore, second in air rifle, and fourth in aggregate. Freshman Abby Ballard fired scores of 571 in smallbore and 594 in air rifle for an 1165 aggregate.
