MSU Freshman Receives Conference Honors
Murray State Freshman Reagan Towns was named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week on Tuesday, per the league office in St. Louis, Missouri.
Towns made an impact at the plate all weekend for the Racers from the DP position. Â The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, native recorded the first extra-base hit of her career, scoring two runs on a double, and added another RBI on a sacrifice fly. She hit .375 and had three RBI. The Racers swept Illinois State over the weekend and split a mid-week doubleheader against Southern Illinois to move to third in the conference standings.Â
On the season, the freshman has a .171 batting average with six hits, a double, and six RBI.Â
