Racers Close Nonconference Slate with 1-0 Loss at Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Murray State women's soccer wrapped up its nonconference schedule with a 1-0 loss at Lindenwood on Sunday afternoon, falling to 1-6-2 on the season.
Griselda Revolorio kept Murray State level deep into the match, turning away five shots before halftime and eight overall to match her season high. The Lions broke through in the 63rd minute, scoring shortly after a corner kick for the only goal of the afternoon.
"She's been a wall back there for us." Head coach Ben Madsen said of Revolorio, "We have to give her a little more help on the attacking end. Our ideas are there, we just have to start putting it in the back of the net."
The Racers' best looks came soon after with Addison Howell rattling the crossbar in the 62nd minute, and Kate Donoghue forcing a save in the 57th on her way to a team-leading three shots. Natalie Miller added two attempts and drew a save in the eighth minute.
Lindenwood outshot the Racers 16-9 and held an 11-2 edge in corner kicks. Murray State's nine shots today marks just the second time since Aug. 27 vs. UT Martin where the Racers have taken under 10 shots in a match.
The Racers open Missouri Valley Conference play Sunday, Sept. 20, hosting Illinois State at Cutchin Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT.

- Revolorio moved into sole possession of third place in program history with her 57th career match in goal and now ranks fourth all time with 233 career saves.
